Robert (Bob) Buly was born in Pennsylvania, USA, on 13th September 1956. He is a well-respected figure in orthopaedic surgery, is an Associate Professor of Clinical Orthopaedic Surgery at the Weill Medical College of Cornell University and an Attending Orthopaedic Surgeon, Surgical Arthritis Service, Hospital for Special Surgery, New York, USA. His residency was at the Hospital for Special Surgery and his Fellowships were in Bern (Switzerland) and Cleveland, Ohio. Bob Buly performs hip and knee surgery, including hip arthroscopy and osteotomy, trauma, hip and knee replacements and revisions. He is also interested in the computer simulation and modelling of hip disorders. He is a Founding Member of the International Society for Hip Arthroscopy.
