ISHA 2009 Trainee Presentation Prize
Abstract submissions are welcomed for the 2009 Trainee Presentation Prize offered by the International Society for Hip Arthroscopy (ISHA). This prize, to the sum of one thousand US dollars, will be awarded at the ISHA Annual Scientific Meeting on Saturday 10th October 2009 in New York, USA. The winner will be the orthopaedic trainee who is judged by an ISHA-selected panel to have delivered the best presentation at that meeting. The prize will be awarded based on the following five criteria:
Originality of research presented (30 points)
Quality of oratory (30 points)
Quality of audiovisual aids (20 points)
Time-keeping (10 points)
Question-handling (10 points)
Criteria for entry
- Presentations (7 minutes) and submissions are in the English language.
- Applicants should be orthopaedic trainees. No applicant should have held a consultant orthopaedic surgeon post (locum, substantive or honorary) at any time.
- Applicants should have been an active author or co-author of the work presented and have obtained the permission of all co-authors to compete for this prize.
Entry details
- Abstracts (maximum 300 words) to be submitted by 6th July 2009 to the ISHA Education Secretary (Dr V Ilizaliturri, educationsecretary@isha.net).
- Abstracts should be accompanied by a letter from the applicant's director of training (or equivalent) stating that the applicant forms part of a recognised orthopaedic training programme on the day of the presentation.
- Abstracts should be accompanied by the applicant's full curriculum vitae.
- Abstracts should be clearly marked as being for the ISHA 2009 Trainee Presentation Prize
- Short-listed applicants will be so advised by 31st July 2009 and full presentation details will be provided at that time.
- Short-listed applicants will be expected to register for the ISHA Annual Scientific Meeting
